The Tertiary Scholarships and Lending Service engages stakeholders to ensure that the awarding of scholarships for technical, vocational and educational training is aimed at building local human capital.
Minister of Education, Premila Kumar, speaking at the TSLS workshop, said she hopes to meet the demand for human capital in our local sectors.
“Awards and scholarships are given for a particular purpose and it’s really to build our human capacity or our workforce so that we can develop a better Fiji for all of us.”
Kumar says the review will allow TSLS to work with universities to align certain programs offered to meet local labor demand.
“Regarding the recruitment of staff and in particular for the scholarships and awards offered by TSLS. TSLS criteria can be very different from what universities offer or how they recruit students. »
