LAHORE: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has given his approval to grant special allowance to traffic officers and highway patrols.
The CM said the special allowance for traffic wardens and police patrols would be equal to that of the Punjab Police. He denounced that the PMLN government did nothing for the traffic police. He approved the induction of 142 vacancies in the Punjab Forensic Science Agency while giving special allowance to local government officials from grade 1 to grade 19.
The CM approved the induction of 19,000 approved vacancies for minorities in various departments. The CM chaired the third meeting of the Standing Cabinet Committees for Finance and Development at the CM office on Friday. Approval has been granted for the new induction of over 24,000 positions from constables to sub-inspector. He said subsequent inductions on the 5,000 new constable positions to the sub-inspector would be done on a phased basis. Approval was granted for the issuance of funds at the meeting for the induction of approved vacancies of 3,000 officers and for the purchase of operational vehicles for the police. He said no police social work was done during Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure. If today the police have broken down vehicles, the PMLN government is likely to be blamed, adding that the crime rate has increased due to the absence of patrols. Patrols will be carried out regularly with the new operation vehicles and the crime rate will decrease. Permission was granted at the meeting to do the induction into the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade. Approval was granted during the presidency of Pervaiz Elahi for hundreds of development projects amounting to billions of rupees; 194 major road construction and repair projects.
Approval has been granted for local government, housing and public health engineering development projects in southern Punjab districts, other cities and four primary and secondary healthcare projects and four sports projects. Approval was granted for the school education development projects in Faisalabad and to restore surplus funds amounting to Rs 880 million for the Punjab education sector phase 3 project. Approval for granting aid was given to family members of the deceased during the mobilization service for Layyah literacy and for the treatment of the four-year-old son of a Naib Qasid from the Welfare Department -being of the population. Approval has been granted to pay the arrears for the Punjab Non-Formal Education Project. The Department of Economics at the University of Punjab will be upgraded. A grant of 100 million rupees has been approved for the establishment of a girls’ home at Government College. Approval has been given to include Sambrial Engineering University in the annual development programme. It has been decided to issue a grant for the Ghurki Trust University Hospital Annual Grant in the amount of Rs 100 million. The ongoing smart program restructuring with the assistance of the World Bank and the continuation of contract employees of the Punjab Population and Family Welfare Center and the appointment of the Managing Director of the Punjab Population Innovation Fund have been approved . It was decided to provide funds for the on-going projects of improving the governance of cities in Punjab. Approval has been given for the external auditor of the database integration plan for the financial year 2022 to 2025 and the Punjab Pension Fund and the Punjab General Provident Investment Fund.
Approval was given for the notification of Punjab Husbandry Act in 2014. Approval was given to assign grades 17 to 16 to the four vacancies of personal assistants as per court orders. The regularization of civil servants in the Motor Transport Management System and the Department of Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control was approved. Approval has been given for the lease of the land for the establishment of a vehicle inspection and certification system at DG Khan.
WB TEAM: A World Bank delegation led by Country Director, Mr. Najy Benhassine, visited Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and former Federal Minister Moonis Elahi at the Chief Minister’s office.
During the meeting, it was agreed to increase cooperation in different fields between the government of Punjab and the World Bank. A detailed discussion took place on the province’s social and infrastructure improvement program supported by the World Bank. The Country Director assured the CM to promote cooperation in the areas of education, health, family planning, irrigation, agriculture and construction of small dams while offering to donate $35 million to the government of Punjab for cash transfers to flood victims.
The chief minister said $35 million would be linked to the Punjab Ehsaas program and distributed to flood victims. The chief minister said that all attention was being given to building dams to preserve water.
Najy Benhassine said he will continue to cooperate with the Punjab government under the leadership of CM Pervaiz Elahi and added that reforms in the education, health and social services sectors of the Punjab government will yield positive results. . The World Bank will continue to work in close coordination with the government of Punjab, he added.
BARYAR: Senior Politician Saleem Baryar and MPA Ahsan Saleem Baryar called the Chief Minister and discussed matters relating to the overall political situation and development projects.
The Chief Minister, while speaking on the occasion, said that the problems and needs of each city including Sialkot were under consideration. He said that considering the needs of the people, the government is focusing on completing the projects under construction.
He denounced that the former PMLN government in Punjab ignored the real problems of the people, put public needs on the back burner and introduced artificial projects. No attention was given to meeting the basic needs of the population, including drinking water. The CM vowed that no stone would be left unturned to solve the people’s problems.
CONGRATULATES SAUDI ARABIA: The Chief Minister congratulated Shah Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, the Royal Family and the people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the National Day of Saudi Arabia and sent a message of good wishes.
The CM said that Hijaz-e-Muqaddas is the focal point of devotion of Muslims all over the world and is their fundamental center of spirituality. Our government and people are grateful to Saudi Arabia for their invaluable help and support during the recent floods in Pakistan. CM said Saudi Arabia has reached the new destination of progress under the recent leadership. The services of the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia cannot be forgotten for the service of Islam and Muslims.
AP SPEAKER: Punjab Assembly Speaker Sibtain Khan called Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and former Federal Minister Moonis Elahi to CM office in which CM Principal Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti was also here. Issues relating to mutual interest and legislation concerning public interests in the Punjab Assembly and the rehabilitation of flood affected people were discussed.
The CM said that the Punjab Assembly has the distinction of making record legislation in regards to religion. He said a ban was imposed on doing private usury business and penalties were also set. He said our intentions are noble and our direction is the right one. We have taken exemplary steps for the public good and well-being in a very short period of time, he argued.
